Victoria Public School - Kitchener Ontario

The school's name says it all! It borrows from a number of styles including Palladian and Neoclassical, in a magnificently repurposed structure. It is now a residential condominium, with a modern five story curved addition on the back that is hidden in this view.

  1. I was a student there while it was a school from 1975 to about 1979. It's a shame that it is no longer used as a school. At least it was saved from the wrecking ball and repurposed. I often go by the building on my way to downtown Kitchener. I often wonder about what my fellow former classmates are up to these days.

    1. I attended Victoria School in 1941/42. At that time it served as 9th and 10th grades for Courtland Avenue School then you went on to finish High School at Kitchener/Waterloo Collegiate. I left in 1942 and enlisted in the RCAF so only completed 10th grade. I still have pleasant memories of it even tho it is seventy years ago

    2. Victoria Public School is located at 25 Joseph Street, across from the end of Ontario Street, close to Queen Street South in downtown Kitchener (It is very close to the Kitchener bus terminal). I have updated this post with a link to a useful site about the history and architecture of the building.
